Betty Montgomery Recognized with University of Toledo Alumni Award

Congratulations to former Ohio Attorney General and M&S Attorney Betty Montgomery on being awarded the University of Toledo Alumni Association’s “Gold T” Award. This prestigious recognition is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to his or her field of endeavor and has been of service to the University, community, or nation. The award was presented to her at the University’s October 5th Homecoming Gala.

Betty’s impact has long been felt in both the state and across the country. A pioneer in advancing women in the legal profession, she previously served as Ohio’s first woman Attorney General and Auditor of State, where she earned a national reputation for her achievements in protecting consumers. Early in her career, as Wood County Prosecuting Attorney (1981-89), she was the only woman prosecuting attorney in Ohio. Betty has received national recognition for excellence in service and advocacy in many areas including legal work before the U.S. Supreme Court. She now focuses her practice on helping clients across highly regulated industries understand and meet their compliance obligations, as well as representing them before state regulators across the country.

Betty remains equally committed to serving her Central Ohio and broader communities. In addition to  her legal and consulting work, she serves on the Ohio Women’s Bar Foundation, the Capitol Square Foundation, the JobsOhio Beverage System Board, and the State Medical Board of Ohio. She also chairs The Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute and serves on the Board of Trustees of Bowling Green State University.

Congratulations, Betty!
