Mac Murray Speaks to Role of Attorneys General at GW Law

Kicking off the first in a series of programs examining the powers and duties of state attorneys general, MPS Partner Helen Mac Murray recently participated in a panel discussion at George Washington University Law School focusing on the key consumer protection roles of attorneys general.

Helen shared her experience and insight as former Consumer Protection Section Chief in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office in “The AG Role in Consumer Protection: Top Cop, Protector of Consumers, including Vulnerable Populations, or Over-The-Top Regulator?” The discussion focused on the attorney generals’ role in their individual states, as well as joining together in multi-state litigation and in collective efforts working with federal counterparts, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
