M&S Partner Michele Shuster will speak on Tuesday, February 5th at the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law’s 2019 Consumer Protection Conference.
Michele will join a lineup in this one day event that includes leading consumer protection enforcement officials from the FTC, FCC, and DOJ, state attorneys general, and other experienced consumer protection practitioners and in-house counsel.
Participating on a panel alongside FCC Associate Division Chief Kristi Thornton, her session “Mobile Marketing: Can Law Keep Up?” will dive into the risks associated with mobile marketing, calling technology, and the laws implicated by such technology. Key industry questions addressed will include:
- Have mobile marketing laws become too complicated and are they preventing innovation?
- What are government enforcers doing to protect against illegal robocalls and does this approach leave a viable path for lawful mobile marketing?
- Are mobile marketing laws flexible enough for auto dialers, manual dialers, instant messaging, SMS, push notifications, and other forms of outreach?
