Federal Regulatory Matters
The expansion of consumer protection and privacy regulation, oversight, and enforcement touches every industry today. Businesses can find themselves in the middle of a web of laws and regulations before they even know it–and the consequences for noncompliance can be devastating. Navigating these waters requires planning for compliance, vigilant monitoring of legal developments, thorough policy auditing, and, when necessary, response to investigations. We represent clients before federal regulatory agencies including the FTC, FCC, and CFPB.
Attorney General & Multistate Matters
Our Attorney General practice provides counsel to businesses across the country facing AG-related consumer protection issues, investigations, or litigation. Dealing with AGs can quickly become very complex as states – at times, up to all 50 – will frequently work together in enforcement matters. Furthermore, because of overlapping roles in consumer protection, states are increasingly coordinating their efforts with federal consumer protection agencies, particularly the FTC. This raises the stakes considerably, and businesses should seek counsel with deep experience in these joint enforcement matters.
Association Counsel
To best serve our clients, we immerse ourselves in their industries and work closely with the associations representing their interests. We have decades of experience working with industry and professional associations, from initial formation to serving as general counsel and in other formal advisory roles.
