M&S is pleased to announce the promotion of Chad Blackham to Senior Attorney, effective January 1, 2026. Chad has been an integral member of the firm’s Compliance and Litigation teams, bringing deep regulatory knowledge and practical business insight to clients operating in highly regulated industries.
Chad maintains a broad-based practice advising companies nationwide on complex consumer protection issues. He counsels clients on federal and state laws governing marketing and advertising, telemarketing, privacy, and internet practices, with a strong emphasis on proactive compliance and realistic risk mitigation. His ability to convert evolving regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance has made him a trusted advisor to organizations navigating rapidly changing legal environments.
Chad regularly assists clients with developing and enhancing internal compliance infrastructures, including drafting privacy and telemarketing policies, preparing compliance manuals, managing state licensing and registration requirements, and creating forward‑looking strategies to avoid regulatory pitfalls before they arise.
In addition to his compliance work, Chad represents clients in consumer litigation and in enforcement matters initiated by state attorneys general and federal agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). He has handled matters through all stages of litigation, including early strategy and dispositive motions, discovery, and negotiated resolutions. His advocacy has contributed to significant client successes, including high‑value judgments, injunctive relief, and the defeat of efforts to certify consumer class actions.
Please join us in congratulating Chad on his well‑deserved promotion.
