Josh Stevens Promoted to Partner, Will Lead Mac Murray & Shuster’s New Cincinnati Office
It is with great pride and excitement that we announce the promotion of Josh Stevens to Partner at Mac Murray & Shuster, as of January 1, 2021.
First joining M&S as an associate in 2016, Josh has almost a decade of experience both managing and advising businesses on complex consumer protection and privacy laws. Previously serving as an in-house attorney, he brings a unique understanding of the challenges and pitfalls businesses face in trying to meet compliance obligations without impeding their operational, financial, and innovation objectives. Josh works with M&S clients nationwide, assessing, building, and implementing risk-based compliance management programs, with a particular focus on federal and state privacy laws. Along with M&S Partner Nick Whisler, he has been instrumental in leading the firm’s growing privacy practice.
Josh received his BA in Government from Centre College (magna cum laude) and JD from The University of Cincinnati College of Law (magna cum laude). He is a strong advocate for participation in the legal community, and is actively engaged with the Cincinnati Bar Association, where he founded the LGBT Interests Committee and currently serves on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. A leader within NAMWOLF (National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms), Josh also founded and chairs the Privacy Subcommittee of the Intellectual Property Practice Area Committee. He was recently recognized by Best Lawyers in its 2021 inaugural “Ones to Watch” list, in the area of Communications Law.
In a second piece of exciting news – we are pleased to announce that Josh will head the firm’s new office, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. This new location extends the M&S footprint within Ohio and will enable us to better meet the growing needs of our clients in the region and nationwide. A Kentucky native, Josh is eager to seize this new opportunity and looks forward to growing relationships with M&S clients as well as the local legal community.
“Josh has long been a valuable member of our compliance team and in particular, our privacy practice,” says Managing Partner Michele Shuster. “We are thrilled to welcome him as our newest partner and know he will be an integral part of the firm’s long-term growth and success. I am a Cincinnati native and know that our Cincinnati office is in great hands under his leadership.”
Congratulations, Josh, on your considerable accomplishments and this well-deserved recognition!
