Mac Murray & Shuster Managing Partner Michele Shuster will serve as President of the Columbus Chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), effective July 2023. She has been an active member of EO since 2011 as well as a respected and familiar face within Central Ohio’s dynamic entrepreneurial community.
Shuster is co-founder of Mac Murray & Shuster LLP, a boutique law firm helping businesses nationwide proactively comply and defend against litigation related to consumer protection and privacy laws. A self-described “serial entrepreneur,” she credits EO and its powerful networking, mentorship, and educational support with fueling her growth as an entrepreneur and business leader.
Says Shuster about her EO experience: “Being a member of EO has been transformative for me, and as a result, for my firm as well. I’ve been pushed outside my comfort zone in the best way possible, challenged to consider new perspectives and driven to achieve new milestones, all while being supported by a diverse and stellar group of leaders, each forging their own entrepreneurial path.”
As Chapter President, Shuster is among a small but notable group. Women hold just 24 percent of all leadership positions globally across EO. Keenly aware of the unique challenges faced by women and minority business owners, Shuster is particularly interested in leveraging her position to support and create opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurial groups.
Whether engaging with EO or another organization, Shuster cites her most important rule for any entrepreneur looking to succeed: Just show up. “I’ve worked hard to seek out experiences that will make me a better leader and create opportunities for growth,” she says. “It’s amazing, the people I’ve met and the opportunities that I’ve had because I choose to show up.”
